Ben Spears is from Mill Valley, California, and studies History and Economics. Ben loved doing mock trial in high school and wanted a competitive team to join in college, so he joined Dartmouth Mock last year. He also loves to argue. His favorite part of Dartmouth Mock is competing alongside such a tightnit community. “Everyone on the squad is driven to win but also are unique people with differing interests which encourages me to want to participate more.” Outside of mock trial, Ben is an editor for the Dartmouth Law Journal and is a member of the History Honors Society. In his free time, Ben enjoys watching sports (go birds), playing fantasy football, mountain biking, lifting weights, and eating Chinese food. Ben’s favorite mock trial memory is qualifying for nationals last year. “It was just an electric feeling to see our hard work come to fruition.” A fun fact about Ben is that he’s a 3 time spelling bee winner. If Ben was a kitchen appliance, he would be a hot dog roller because once he gets on a roll, he doesn’t stop rolling (and because hot dog rollers are awesome, and Ben is awesome!).

“Joining Dartmouth Mock Trial was the best decision I made my freshman year. We are not just one of the best mock trial teams in the country, we are a family.”
