“My teammates taught me that it is possible to balance academics and extracurriculars. Most importantly, they are constantly bettering me and pushing me outside of my comfort zone; Mock Trial is where I have experienced the most personal growth at Dartmouth.”

Uma Misha is from Los Gatos, California, and is a Cognitive Science major. Uma joined mock trial when she was a freshman because she wanted a structured social group. When she went to the Mock Trial info session, she saw how close-knit the team was and knew she had to be a MockStar! Uma also did theater throughout high school and saw Mock Trial as a new way to create characters and perform. She likes being on the Dartmouth Mock Trial team because of the community of “exceptionally intelligent people who are also engaged with a variety of communities across Dartmouth.” Outside of mock trial, Uma is a member of Alpha Phi sorority, the Student Advisory Board for SVPP, and does research with the PhilLab. For fun, Uma enjoys hate-watching TV shows, skiing, anime (weeb alert), playing pickle ball, and filling out Mock Trial Google forms. Uma’s favorite mock trial memory is qualifying for nationals because she loves to win! If Uma were a kitchen appliance, she would either be a toaster, because she can handle the heat without getting burned, or a blender because she can handle smooth and chunky situations easily. A fun fact about Uma is she won her middle school yodeling competition.
